Hawaiian Theme - Aloha!

As Myron and I contemplated becoming General Chairs we were told to think of theme ideas to help us decide. I thought about the times we had the most fun and saw the larger attendances at dances. These were "theme nights" - a night where we all got to dress up and play a part. So we started thinking about "party" ideas and came up with a Hawaiian Luau. As a slogan, what is more recognizeable and meaningful than Aloha? In Hawaiian, "Aloha" can be expressed as "hello" and "goodbye". However, it represents a deeper cultural philosophy embodying love, compassion, peace, and a way of life that emphasizes harmony and mutual respect.

Meet Our Mascot - The Honu

In Hawaiian, "honu" means green sea turtle, and it is a deeply respected symbol of luck, wisdom, protection, and long life. Honu also holds significant cultural meaning, representing guidance, endurance, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

Convention Colors

When you think of Hawaii, you think of flowers and lots of colors. How could we pick just one or two colors? We picked them all! Come dressed in floral patterns. As callers look out at the dancers, they will see colorful flowers galore!

Locations

The convention will be held at the Dreyfus University Center on the UW Stevens Point Campus, 1015 N Reserve Street, Stevens Point, WI. Check the registration form or visit the accommodations page on the website for all the choices for accommodations. We will have dorms on campus with meals, hotels and camping options available. Food will be offered on site for lunch and at the dorms for dinner.
